*I posted it for the user that logs on as cora_217!*
A tear shed for show, "shes dead but i feel... nothing no saddness no remorse. my dear little sister, i killed her" john sighed. cora began to scream, "no shes not dead! no! no! you didn't kill her!" a tear fell from cora's eye her heart was being broken. she knew her brother had it in him to do it, to kill there mother. cora fell to her knees with her back hunched over she allowed her self to cry clenching her fists on the ground. the only living being john had ever cared about was his 7 year old little sister. he protected her and kept her safe. john stepped tword her with his arms out as if he wanted to embrace her for just a moment. she stood quickly and drew her blade. screaming still she said, "STAY BACK! you did didn't you, you killed her!" john gave no reply but backed up a small bit. he looked to the ground in shame saying, "you must understand the situation i was faced with..." cora intruppted him, "NO SHE WAS OUR MOTHER! its not like you had no choice!" with that her arms began to shake. the tears were still rolling down her cheek. she turned around and ran putting her blade in its sheath she ran to the stable where her war dog waited for her. she quickly bridled it and john approached her protesting her leaving. he told her he had to do what he did but never exsplained why. cora wiped her eyes and then pulled her self onto the war dog. "me and bob are leaving... if we ever see eachother again do not exspect me to forget what you did." with that and a short simple whistle escaping her lips cora rode away hoping to never see her brother again.
The wind blew through her blackened free flowing hair. The mountain air so fresh, so clean. The images of the battle that just ended went through her mind. A smile creased her stern heartbroken face. A sigh of relief escaped her lips as she began to hum the song her mother once hummed to her. She sheathed her blood stained sword and picked up her dagger from the dirt. She walked down towards the valley still humming. She almost danced down the mountain, the thrill of the battle continued to flare in her heart. She had finally done it. She killed him. She prevailed over her brother. Her long despised enemy now lay dead atop the mountain where they were born. Upon reaching the valley she untied her waiting war dog and mounted herself in the saddle. She then rode off with the same twisted smile as before.

Coras dagger was crafted by her brother, once she learned to walk it was time for her to learn to fight. Cora looked at the shiny toy with wonder as her brother knelt down beside her, “I made this for you, cora.”
She squeled with joy and babbled some more witch probably ment, “wow so cool” but nobody could understand what she said, after all she was only a year and a half. iayitsu sighed and patted her on the head smiling slightly. He cut her hand lightly and she began to cry at the sight of blood, “that hurts doesn’t it?” he ripped a small pice of cloth from his sleeve and bandaged her tiny hand. She smiled at the bandage and she hugged her brother. He handed her the dagger so that she held on to the hilt. “this is how its done” he drew his own sword and swong it across the air, she copied his motions and he continued to show her how to fight. The smile on his face was as large as it had ever been, he enjoyed teaching his little sister about the world.

Cora looked at it strangly, “is it supposed to be pretty like that?”
Her big brother responded with a smile and he patt her on the head lightly, “no.”
The creature in question was a newborn pup, its fur brighter green than the grass on a cool summer day and its eyes darker than the devil’s own. Despite its cold eyes cora smiled and picked it up in her small and frail arms and she looked into its eyes, “your name is bob.” she said in her childish yet serious and demanding voice. Cora’s brother sighed smiling still, “that is a girl puppy.”
Cora would have no nonsense and shook her head, “BOB!” she yelled He shrugged it off and said, “but bob isn’t a verry strong nam…” Cora began to yell again almost at the brink of tears, “my puppy’s name is bob!”

Her hair was soft despite the tired exspression of her body, she had travled for so long. Shadows were cast across her stirn face from the wind blowing through her bangs. A dog with bright green fur stood at her side, cora‘s head only reached to the dogs shoulder. on its back rested a saddle the perfect size for her. Although cora was small she did not seem young or naieve, her innocence had been lost so long ago countless battles had been fought and she never was completely defeated. Cora looked around as she saw the shadow of a woman cast on the ground behind a nearby tree. Cora’s drained exspression evaporated as a smile cresed her face. “hello.” she said in sly mannor. Cora could see the end of the womans long dark majestic blue hair, the color of her hair reminded her of someone but she did not yet know who. The tree stood just ten feet away cora had almost begged for a fight, many sleepless nights and tireing days had gone by since anything happend, she called out to the woman, “come out.”
It was not the woman’s hair or her face that caused cora to remember who she was, it was the sword she carried. Cora could hear a faint whimper as the woman stepped into view, the kind that people make when their heart was broken yet did not want anyone else to know, that sad unavoidable whimper that comes before the uncontrollable cry. The woman wore a long black dress and her hair was down, except for the sword she carried you could have thought of her as another human house wife. The dog became slightly uneasy and inched twords the woman growling fircely. Cora let out a quick high pitched whistle and the dog did not move anymore. Cora did not see the tears that rolled down the womans soft cheeks nor did she notice the fire of hatred that burned black in her eyes. All she saw was the sword that the woman drew from its sheath. The smile upon cora’s face only grew as she mumbled, “sabre”
The woman that now stood in front of cora was alwase with her brother, no madder what he did or where he went she followed him like a lost puppy looking for someone to take care of her. John hated having people follow him, that’s why cora stayed at home when he did his traveling for work. She understood that he needed his space. John’s hatred for that woman was stronger than his love for cora. Cora slowly drew her sword, its blade glinted in the sun, yet the edge wasn’t sharp after so much use. “why did you have to!” the woman exclaimed trying to cut cora’s head off. Cora moved out of the path of the blade and cut the woman across her back. “dana?” cora said more in jest than accually asking her name The woman gave no response but tried to strike again, her blade hit cora’s causing a short spark . “no. its not dana, your name is sheva?”
“you don’t take me seriously!” the woman shouted. Cora was by far shorter than the woman but her skills surpassed that of the woman. The blood that ran from the womans wound now coverd her back, she was losing blood at an oddly fast rate. “ill kill you!” she shouted, as time passed it seemed that she got stronger as aposed to weakening from her loss of blood. “why.” cora said more as a jest than a question. “why do you want to kill me?”
“he didn’t desrve to die!” the tears continued to flow from her normally auburn eyes.
“ahh I got it your name is Iayitzu. No that’s not it eather… that was ‘his’ name before you gave him the weak human name!” cora clashed weapons with the girl again but drew back and used her speed to hit the woman in her stomic. ‘why wont she die?’ cora began to realize something was wrong. The woman fought just as hard if not harder, her will to live seemed stronger than cora’s ability to fight. Cora was growing tired but could not seem to kill the girl. “ahh your name is Isabel… yes that’s it.” cora grinned, determend not to show the enemy that she grew tired as the time passed. It struck cora as to what the girl might be ’a beserker?’ she asked herself. “you killed your own brother!” she screamed, “how could you! You were the only one he ever cared about!” “and he hated you.” an evil grin spread across her face. Tears sreamed down her cheeks as she continued to fight for revenge. Something dawned on cora as she realized why this girl would not die, despite the fact that her dress was drenched in her own blood… and she continued to lose more. ‘she is a berserker!’ she realized as she fought harder, ‘this girl wont die untill my own death… but as soon as im dead and she relaxes she will instantly die! She has lost to much blood to survive like this.’
“but how to kill you…isabel?” she grinned shadows cast across her face as she counter attacked the oncoming swing.'all ihave to do is remove her head’
cora finally decided to kill the woman, she had been holding back after all the death of a familar face is no laughing matter. of course it seemd that way often around cora... her mother, father, brother, all gone as were many of her friends and even more of her family... she didnt want another to die at her hands as so many did. as she struck the woman's neck in one forcefull blow as the woman's head rolled. cora's shoulder hurt quite a bit, she looked down to find that isabel managed to hit, although it was only once it ment that she had been training, 'did she want my death that badly?' she asked herself almost smiling. she touched the wound and mutterd a word from her anchent langugage. just one simple word and the bleeding stopped. she shook her head at the sight of the decapitated woman and she stared at the blood stained clothes and the blood stained grass beneth them. it had only been eight monthes since her brothers death and yet here she was again coverd in the blood of another familar person, "why doesnt anybody understand?" she asked outloud. soon cora realized the woman's stomic was unusually large. she placed her hand on the womans stomic. cora gasped slightly 'could she be?' not wanting to find out, not wanting to know what really happend she turned away only for a moment. she saw a bush of roses, they to were stained with this woman's blood yet they still seemed as delacite as they were. "when the roses are doused with the blood of a woman all is lost." she repeated an anchent saying to her self.

he searched for her through out the town, "cora come home!" he yelled out to her. "i-i would never hurt you." he ran though the town searching franticly for her. once at the end of the final street still unable to find her, he fell to his knees and breathed heavliy, "im sorry..." he mutterd under his breath, "im sorry cora." ************ he watched his mother look at him with thoes same distasteful eyes, the same eyes that she looked at him with every time he came into veiw. "why did you do that?" she asked sharply. "i dont know... i guess i like to piss people off." he sighed almost smiling as he leaned back in his chair. "do you want to be taken to the jail? well do you?" she asked him again, this had only been the twentith time that month that she asked him that, usually it was more. "relax mother... im not that stupid." he was fifteen and already had no regard for conduct. "all i did was tell the old hag what she was." his mother wiped her hands on a cloth that was sitting near the sink as she finished the dishes. "your still a child!" "yes mother i know." he yelled back. being a halfling he wouldnt be an adult untill he was thirty, after all they live to be well over two centuries old. she slapped him with the back of her hand, all of her anger welled up inside was releced with one swing of the arm. "have respect for your elders." she said demandingly. he said nothing after that, he couldnt bring himself to say anything. ****************** 'i guess i already knew it... didnt i? that she wasnt my mother anymore.' he thought. 'she would not have hurt me... nomatter what i did.'
****************** her normally blue eyes turned a deep shade of red, the color of the vampires necter, the color of blood. she grinned insanly as she spoke, "youll pay for chalenging me." her light brown hair shone in the sunlight that filterd through the window. "you arent my mother any longer... i dont know nor do i care what your are! all i know is that i can kill you. you arent my mother!" he yelled to her. only a few moments later a small girl no older than six walked into the room, she wore pajamas and her soft brown hair was down. she rubbed her eye slightly and yauned, as soon as she saw her mother standing there she smiled and ran forward hugging her, "your back from the hospital!" the joy in the childs face was beyond comparison. the womans eyes returned to the color of blue and she replied, "yes cora im home, but i wont be for long... they said i had to go back tomarrow morning. now please dear return to bed... ill wake you in the morning before i leave." the girl whom the woman called cora nodded slightly and reluctanly let go of her mother, returning to bed ever so slowly. "you dare lie to her." he mutterd under his breath to be sure that cora did not hear. "whats the difference... if im not really her mother why should you care that i lied to her?" "because!" he yelled again drawing his sword from its scabbard at his side, "she beleves you are!" "i must take my leave now," she said as she looked out the window seeing that the sun was now compleatly gone. "if you truly wish to challenge me wait untill i return... then we shall fight." ********************** 'how i wanted to kill her then, how if only i were fast enough i could have... but what would i have told cora... even now that she has seen the demon inside mother she still beleves that creature was our mother.' tears pressed to come out but he held them in. he hit his fists on the dirt road angry at the world and at himself. ********************** cora looked at her mother ever so curiously, "so you are all better? you dont need to go to the hospital anymore?" she asked excitedly. "nope, they said i was all better." her mother replied with a smile. he looked away, unable to stand the lies and fake woman any longer. "i-i dont want you near her any more... you lie to much, to protect her from what? why do you lie to her when all you do is turn around and become what you truly are?" he yelled at his mother for the first time infront of cora. they all sat out side in the park by the edge of the town. cora's eyes filled with tears, "big brother what do you mean?" she hugged her mother tightly, "mommy doesnt lie to us." he smiled slightly shaking his head and laughing, "you dont get it do you? cora your seven now, cant you see this woman isnt the same one who cared for us when you were little. this woman is cold hearted, she lies... especilly to you." he stopped for a moment almost disturbed by what he was doing. he had alwase gone along with his mother's lies to protect cora from the truths, to protect cora from not having a mother anymore... but he couldnt stand it anylonger. every time the woman appeard out of nowhere she would hit him abuse him and then say she had to leave. "she lies to you." he repeated in a morbid disturbing tone. "cora i want you to go home." the woman said looking at him. she helped cora off her lap and then stood herself, "if you want to challenge me now is your time boy." she sneerd at him he drew his sword and replied, "ill kill you any time pregnant dog." a smile was plasterd across his face as he said it, as if he had been waiting for that moment for a long time. the woman's eyes turned red once more and the air grew cold. cora looked back at them, her big brothers sword drawn and whom she thought was her mother stood there with out a weapon but her skin was more blue than ever, her hair had changed to the absence of color, it was blacker than the blackest sky on the darkest night, it was blacker than a room with out windows, it was the ultimate black. her eyes reder than the most pure berries. tears streamed from her eyes as she watched her brother swing his sword. she ran home unable to think of what was going on. as he swong his sword it hit her on the arm but did not even leave a scratch. she laughed slightly as her nails grew longer and she brought her self into a fighting stance. "didnt your father ever teach you to alwase sharpen your blade before a fight?" she laughed. 'i sharpend it just before we left, i even cut my self with the blade i know its sharp.' he gasped slightly thinking it to himself. she advanced on him ready to kill. ****************************** 'all i remember after that is standing over her dead corpse. blood everywhere and then i, i fell. once i woke i returned to cora. she cowerd at the sight of me. my blood stained body and clothes that crazed look in my eyes... many times had i returned with blood on my clothes. she just laughed and had a little meal on the talble in only a few minouts. she didn't care weather i killed something or just beat it till it bled, she just cared that i was home, happy that she wasnt alone anymore. but of course this was differnt, it was the blood of whom she thougth to be her mother. and yet i prevailed through the battle... and cora is suffering for it, would it have been better had i not fought her? or even if i had died?' he asked himself. "would it have been better if i died? would cora be truly happy?" he yelled it out as the tears finnally escaped. the pain that he caused his little sister was far worse than the pain of standing by watching that creature lie to her, it truly was far worse... yet he could not help but think that the woman was going to kill them both one day.
cora continued to cry she hid behind a tree in the forest her war dog at her side. she hugged bob's neck and let the tears come, "why did 'he'?" she asked bob knowing bob could not respond. "why did 'he' kill mommy? why is mommy dead?" she continued to cry.
